Silver Arts Award Unit 2A - Establish the Purpose of the Project

Identification of the Project
In order to complete my Arts Award leadership task, I will be working as part of a small team to create a short film which will hopefully be screened at the Borderlines Film Festival in March. On 17th February 2014, the group will complete pre-production, before filming over two days from 18th to 19th February. The next two days will be spent editing the film, ready for screening.

Role
My role within the group is the editor. As such, I will sit in on the production of the film, logging every shot to make the editing easier as well as suggesting ways for the camera crew to add more shots, based on a working edit I'll be making in my head. Once production has wrapped, I'll lead the edit of the film, taking on board suggestions from any member of the group who decides to sit in on production, and I'll collaborate with Ben Harrison, the group's sound man, in order to synchronise the footage with audio from an external microphone. This will ensure the footage is in the best condition for the cut.

Assessment of the Participants' Needs
In addition to myself, there will be four members of the group participating, as well as a mentor and an additional actor.
